The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has opened an investigation into Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) after multiple red flags were raised regarding suspicious donations funneled through the Democrat-backed fundraising platform ActBlue.

The inquiry stems from concerns about potential donor fraud and unauthorized campaign contributions tied to Crockett’s 2024 re-election efforts. A notable case cited in the investigation involves a 73-year-old Texas resident whose name was used to make 53 individual donations totaling $595 to Crockett’s campaign—without his or his family’s knowledge.
This incident has sparked broader scrutiny of Crockett’s total campaign fundraising, with nearly $870,000 reportedly collected through ActBlue. Investigators are questioning whether additional donors may have had their identities misused to make repeated small-dollar donations—a tactic that could be used to mask the origin of funds or circumvent individual contribution limits.
The case also raises renewed concerns about ActBlue’s internal security and fraud-prevention protocols. Critics argue the platform may lack the necessary safeguards to verify donor authenticity and prevent exploitation, which could compromise the transparency and legality of campaign financing.
Rep. Crockett has been formally notified and is expected to respond within the next 15 days. Depending on developments, that response period could be extended to 30 or even 60 days as the investigation unfolds.
